[OPIRG-EVENTS] Fwd: Memorial Mass for earthquake victims in El Salvador
MEMORIAL MASS FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN EL SALVADOR
AT NOTRE-DAME CATHEDRAL BASILICA
On Thursday, January 18th, at 5 :15 pm, Ottawa, Archbishop Marcel
Gervais
will celebrate a Memorial Mass for the earthquake victims in El Salvador
at Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica Sussex Drive, Ottawa. Everyone is
invited
to join in this solemn moment of prayer.
On Monday, January 17th, Archbishop Gervais authorized the parishes of
the Archdiocese of Ottawa to proceed with a special collection for the
victims of this past weekend's earthquake in El Salvador. The funds
collected will be sent to Development and Peace, a Canadian Catholic
organization that has development projects in El Salvador.
During the Memorial Mass, a collection will be taken up to give anyone
who
has not already done so the opportunity to contribute to this
organization
emergency relief campaign.
