Please circulate this widely.

CHUO-FM89 PRESENTS GROUNDBREAKING TRILINGUAL BROADCAST, AS PART OF ITS
COVERAGE OF THE SUMMIT OF THE AMERICAS

CHUO-FM89, the University of Ottawa's bilingual community radio station,
goes trilingual Saturday April 21, with a three-hour special on the Summit
of the Americas, in English, French, and Spanish.

This unprecedented broadcast begins at 4 pm with an hour in English,
followed by an hour in French at 5 pm. It culminates with an hour in
Spanish at 6 pm. The broadcast will include interviews with a range of
participants in the Summit, both inside and outside of the security
perimeter.

"In covering the Summit of the Americas, it's important to get beyond the
question of whether or not someone will break a store window, and to
provide a window instead on what's really happening", says Programme
Director Nadia Jai-Mansouri. "That's what we intend to do, in all three
languages."

CHUO-FM will also broadcast daily updates during the lead-up to the
Summit, including coverage of the Peoples' Summit, from Monday April 16 to
Friday April 20, at 5 pm.
