Tessa Hebb will be on hand to talk about the "Impact of ethically managed
Labour
Sponsored Investment Funds on long term firm behavior and returns".
She will also report on recent
changes to the Canada Business Corporations Act and shareholder action in
Canada - something our group has participated in lobbying for.

Here is Tessa's brief CV:

Tessa Hebb is an independent economic consultant and President of Hebb,
Knight and Associates. Hebb, Knight and Associates provides analytic and
strategic research and advice on issues of public policy with a particular
focus on the financial sector. Ms. Hebb's extensive background in public
policy research includes work with trade unions both in Canada and the
United States with a particular focus on investment and pension funds. She
has just completed a major project in the U.S. as Research Chair for the
Heartland Labor-Capital Project, a three-year project funded by the Ford and
Rockefeller Foundations. Her edited volume, Working Capital: The Power of
Labor's Pensions will be released in spring 2001 by Cornell University
Press. Ms. Hebb is a visiting scholar at Carleton University and is working
with the CSTIER Institute in developing a pension fund trustee education
program.

Ms. Hebb is currently working on her doctorate at Oxford University, England
where she is researching the long term impacts of socially responsible
investment by institutional investors. She is a graduate of Harvard
University. She holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration, with a
concentration in international finance. Her background in public policy
includes her past position as Director of Research for the New Democratic
Party of Canada. She is a frequent keynote and guest speaker in both
national and international forums and appears as a commentator on national
television. Ms. Hebb has published articles in both Canada and the United
States including a major article in Social Policy Magazine Spring 2001.

Tessa Hebb is President of the Douglas-Coldwell Foundation, a Board Member
of the Center for Labor and Community Research, Chigago, and a newly elected
member of the Board of the Social Investment Organization.

The meeting will also include a summary of SRI criteria for our investment
club as developed based on comments from various interested parties.
You are also invited to join some of us for 6 p.m. dinner at Godvinda's
nearby.
Please call to confirm you attendance to one or both.

Kind Regards,
