More Information: Tyler's Cape is a first novel by Nova Scotial-born Ottawa
writer Darren Greer. Tyler's Cape is set in rural Nova Scotia, and
narrated by Luke Conrad who upon his return home from Halifx to take care
of his elderly mother recounts the often-mysterious history of his
family. Blending humour, pathos and a stark, realistic portrayal of
growing up on the Nova Scotian South Shore, the novel explores a fifty year
relationship between three brothers and examines the difficult yet enduring
nature of family.
About the Author: Darren Greer is the author of several professionally
produced plays and a number of short stories, poems and non-fiction
articles published in Canada and the United States. He is also a
well-known national AIDS activist and has written extensively on AIDS,
social and Aboriginal issues. He just returned from protesting the FTAA in
Quebec City and has quite a bit to say about it!
