LIVING LEGACY DAY IN ONTARIO'S PARKS
FREE ADMITTANCE TO ANY PROVINCIAL PARK on SUNDAY JUNE 24th
The Harris Government has designated June 24th as a free day at any
provincial park to raise the profile of Ontario's Living Legacy.
Though Ontario's Living Legacy Agreement included the creation of 378
new protected areas in Ontario -THESE AREA ARE PROTECTED IN NAME ONLY!
When the majority of Ontario's parks and conservation reserves are open
to exploitative activities such as mining, sport hunting,snowmobile &
ATV trails..what are these wilderness sanctuaries being protected from?
THE ECOLOGICAL INTEGRITY OF OUR PARKS ARE AT RISK! Under the Ontario
Living Legacy Agreement,protected areas can be turned into a network of
roads and quarries!
Help us expose the Harris Government's Lying Legacy and their misleading
use of the word "protected" & enjoy a free day at a park while you're at
it!
Earthroots is asking people to take part in a province-wide information
picket. Let us know if you can help distribute pamphlets at a provincial
park on June 24th. It will just take a few hours of the day and will
help us raise awareness. Pamphlets can be picked up at the Earthroots
office or sent to you in the mail or email.
