[OPIRG-EVENTS] Call-Out for Defeat Harris Submissions (fwd)

Dear Friends and comrades,
	The Peak, the University of Guelph’s alternative, independent
student magazine, in cooperation with the Guelph Action Network (GAN),
has decided to publish a special issue dedicated solely to the Defeat
Harris Campaign, which will be distributed across Ontario in mid
	This is a call out to everyone  out there who could offer support
in any way. We are looking for articles, graphics, art, comics, poems,
cover designs, layout help, distribution help, funding, and anything
else you can offer. The more people, material, and money, the bigger
this project can be.
	We have broken the magazine into 4 parts and are looking for
articles, graphics, etc. for all of them.

1) Facts on Harris and the Tories
-these will be divided into sections and will be through out the
-please send us any information you have.
2) Analysis
       -Why is it important to fight back?
       -Why can we win?
       -How can we win?
       -What does this all mean in the bigger picture?
       -lessons from history
       -"race", gender, class theory
3) Personal Accounts
4) Mobilizing/Schedule of Events
-This is the section in which towns, cites, hamlets, affinity groups,
etc.  can publicize what they have planned in their communities  so
that people from across the province  can offer support, and/or
coordinate actions.

The deadline for all submissions is Monday, August 27, 2001.
