[OPIRG-EVENTS] Fwd: [ftaaott] training and speaking events (altered)




There are 3 upcoming events that folk should be aware of:
 
 1.
 
On Sunday 11th, there will be a direct action training workshop at
carlton university, in room B149 of the Loeb building. 

 This workshop will be facilitated by the Montreal Direct Action
Collective, and will involve training in direct action, affinity group
structure and organizing, and a variety of role-playing scenarios. All
those interested in the actions during the 17th and 18th are fully
encouraged to come out and contribute.

This workshop will run from 1pm to 6pm.
 
 2.
 
 On Tuesday 13th, there will be both direct action and civil
disobedience training workshops held at carleton university, in porter
hall, room 231 unicentre building. This will take place from
7:30-10:30pm
 
These workshops will be facilitated by the Montreal Direct Action 
Collective (MDAC), as well as the Root Activist Network of Trainers
(RANT). This will involve training in direct action, affinity group
structure and organizing, civil disobedience, and a variety of
role-playing scenarios. All those interested in participating in the
actions during the 17th and 18th are fully encouraged to come out and
contribute.

 3.
 
On Wednesday 14th, there will be a talk by Montreal activist Jaggi Singh 
entitled IMF, World Bank, the War Against Terrorism, and American 
Imperialist Policy. This will be held in Theatre B of Southam Hall, and
it will begin at 1:30pm. 

 Jaggi will address the issues surrounding current economic policies and 
their ties with the War in Afghanistan. Jaggi has worked with CLAC and
AGIR.
