[OPIRG-EVENTS] Reminder of event TONIGHT in Ottawa: BRINGING THE STRUGGLE HOME

BRINGING THE STRUGGLE HOME: A CRITICAL LOOK AT THE IMF, WAR AND
GLOBALIZATION

Wednesday, November 14th, 7:00pm
Room 202 Montpetit Hall (125 Université), University of Ottawa
Wheelchair Accessible

Panelists:

* Sue Collis, organizer with the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP)
and the Ontario Common Front in Toronto

* Chelby Daigle-Oniyemofe, member of Anti-Oppression Ottawa

* Jaggi Singh, member of the Anti-Capitalist Convergence (CLAC) and AGIR
(Action contre la guerre, l'imperialisme et le racisme) in Montreal

"Bringing the Struggle Home" is a contribution to the collective organizing
and analysis leading up to the demonstrations in Ottawa against the IMF,
World Bank and G20 meetings (November 16-18), as well against the Tory
provincial government (November 15). This evening panel and discussion aims
to make links between capitalist globalization abroad and at home; between
the IMF's structural adjustment programmes and the Tories' Common Sense
Revolution; between globalization and imperialism; and ultimately, between
imperialism and "America's New War".

"Bringing the Struggle Home" will also look critically, and honestly, at
the social justice movement against globalization, including
anti-oppression politics, racism, anti-authoritarian organizing, as well
as strategy and tactics after Genoa and September 11.

There will be a free-ranging discussion after the panel presentations, as
well as announcements and key information about upcoming actions, demos
and teach-ins between November 15-18 in Ottawa. Bring a friend and come
out in large numbers. Find out what those "radicals" are up to anyway.
