Subject: Upcoming panel:The Veil from the Inside

The Veil from the Inside: Reflections on Western conceptions of
Muslim Women

This panel will explore and challenge how Muslim women are perceived
in Western society. Speakers will discuss the role Western feminism
and media play in perpetuating negative stereotypes of the lives of
Muslim women.

After the speakers' presentations the audience will be encouraged to
ask questions and reflect on what they have learned from the panel.

Date: Wednesday February 27th
Time: 1-3:30pm
Place: Baker's Lounge

Co-Sponsored by the Muslim Students'Association and the Womyn's
Centre
