[OPIRG-EVENTS] Ottawa Health coalition- Public forum on Health care March 6th (fwd)

The Romanow Commission on the Future of Canadian health care
launched its public consultations with Canadians yesterday in Regina.
THe Commission will be coming to Ottawa on April 4th to hear from
community groups and individuals. In the meantime, the local health coalition
is sponsoring a community forum whre individuals are invited to share their
perspectives and hear from some experts and practitioners in the field.

Canadians need to express their strong support for a fully public,
universally based health care system *NOW* if we don't want to lose it to
corporate interests. The WTO is currently exploring including health and
education services as market goods that woudl be subject to
the regulations of international trade agreements. This would likely mean
the increasing privatization of our system and declining access.

THERE IS NO BETTER TIME THAN NOW FOR COMMUNITY AND ANTI-CORPORATE
GLOBALIZATION ACTIVISTS TO EXPRESS THEIR COMMITMENT TO A PUBLICLY
FUNDED AND PUBLICLY ADMINISTERED HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

If you'd like to learn more, hear more, or say something-
check this event out tomorrow.
