[OPIRG-EVENTS] Palestine-Israel Lecture: Chomsky would want you there

Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR) presents a lecture by Dr. Marc
Ellis on the Palestinian struggle for self-determination tomorrow evening
(March 7th; 8:00 pm, Bell Theater, Careleton University). Dr. Ellis is a
professor of Jewish Studies at Baylor University and one of the leading
intellectuals advocating the right for Palestinian self-determination. Not to
mention, Noam Chomsky, Desmund Tutu and Edward Said all have brilliant things
to say about him:

Noam Chomsky writes: "Marc Ellis has demonstrated great courage, integrity,
and insight in the very important work he has been doing for years. It has
been an inspiration for all of us"

Nobel Laureate Archbishop Desmund Tutu writes: "Ellis provides a vital
contribution to solving one of the few remaining intractable problems of our
time".

Edward Said writes: "Marc Ellis is brilliant writer, a deeply thoughtful and
courageous mind, an intellectural who has broken the death-hold of mindless
tradition and unreflective cliche to produce a superb account of
post-Holocaust understanding, with particular reference to the Palestinian
people and the moral obligation of Israelis and diaspora Jews. He is a man to
be listened to with great respect and admiration."

Faisal writes: The Palestinian struggle has to date received little attention
from activists in the West. As the level of violence spirals out of 
control,Palestinian activists urge our allies in progressive movements to take 
a more active role in the struggle. I hope to see you at tomorrow's event.
