The Year One gathers poems from three books of poetry and also includes the
acclaimed poetic fictions "The Salem Diary" and "The Salem Letters." In the
ten new poems opening this collection, the first in a decade, masks of the
classical and melodious earlier work have been ripped away. With emotion
shaped by exactness Diane Keating extends private experience into a larger
social context, every poem resonating with the complexities of loss.
The Year One captures a strong and distinctive voice as it has evolved to
full maturity. Diane is travelling from Toronto to be with us.
