Friends,

The Ontario Environment Network will hold its 
OEN Annual Fall Conference and Annual General 
Meeting in the beautiful, fall-coloured, northern 
highlands of Lanark County this year, making it 
accessible for most of us.  Please note that rides
are now available from Ottawa to Lanark; see 
contact information at the bottom.

(2) EASTERN ONTARIO ENVIRONMENTAL NETWORK
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Of particular interest will be the formation/launch 
of a new Eastern Region Environmental Network 
under the OEN. There has been various talk of such 
a creature over the past few years -- this is an 
opportunity to jump on as the OEN will support 
this with some staff time.

climate change work, The Gananoque Watershed, the 
Algonquin to Adirondack Initiative and our local food 
infrastructure. 

* A special youth session on how environmental groups 
can integrate youth in our programs 

* Carol Dillon on Water Taking Permits and the Tay River 

* OEN Forest Caucus 

* John Jackson on the expectations of the new 
   Waste Diversion Organization 

* Cheryl Nash on building a local food industry 

* OEN Land Use Caucus on Ontario's Smart Growth Initiative 

* The Environmental Assessment Process in Ontario 

* John Bacher on his book Petrotyranny 

* Discusion on Provincial Elections and the Environment 

* Entertainment - dance and local fundraiser (live band).

Non-Member: $25 / $12.50 
Member: $20 / $10 
Under/Unemployed: $15 / $7.50 
Youth/Student Rate: $10 / $5

Meals (local, organic): $5-$10/meal
  
Accommodation: cabins; FREE onsite camping;
billeting; local B&B's.
