[OPIRG-EVENTS] Ottawa-Outaouais Students Against the War/ Etudiants Outouais-Ottawa contre la guerre, Meeting Tuesday, April 8th, 6pm
This past Tuesday, an historic meeting of students opposed to the War on Iraq
took place, and has given birth to a new organization:
Ottawa-Outaouais Students Against the War / Outaouais-Ottawa Etudiants contre la guerre
Comprising 18 students from 10 different high schools, one junior high school, and
a CEGEP from both Gatineau and Hull, this group has decided to commit itself to
building a vibrant student-led movement against the war.
Where: CUPE Boardroom, 20 James St. (entrance at back), just off Bank St.
When: Tuesday, April 8th, 6pm
The very first project of this group is the development of a Handbill promoting
the Global Day of Action and March, declared by the international anti-war movement
for Saturday, April 12th. Thousands of such handbills will be distributed at the
meeting.
All students from the Ottawa-Gatineau region are welcome and encouraged to attend.
