Lesbians rights and human rights in Guatemala: An evening with Claudia
Acevedo 


Claudia Acevedo is the coordinator of "Lesbiradas", the only lesbian
organisation in Guatemala. She'll share with us her insights regarding the
fight for human rights by Guatemalan lesbians in a country where militarism,
racism, poverty, violence against women and homophobia pose enormous
challenges to activists committed to social justice. 


When? Tuesday, May 20th, 7:00 - 10:00 pm

Where? Acension Anglican Church, 253 Echo Dr.

Music (música!) and refreshments will follow Claudia's discussion.

Claudia Acevedo coordonne "Lesbiradas", seule organisation lesbienne du
Guatemala. Elle partagera avec nous ses vues concernant la lutte pour les
droits humains des lesbiennes au Guatemala, un pays où le militarisme, le
racisme, la pauvreté, la violence faite aux femmes et l'homophobie posent
des défis énormes au militantisme pour la justice sociale.
