Lecture - Political Theory and Public Administration -- June 19, 2003 (Thu)


Professor Vincent Ostrom will present a seminar to launch the 50th Anniversary 
of the School of Public Policy and Administration. 

The presentation will be based on a paper entitled: "Political Theory and 
Public Administration." 

2:00 to 3:30 p.m., 509 A Dunton Tower. 

Professor Vincent Ostrom, a leading academic expert on democratic governance 
will be speaking about American democracy, de Tocqueville's vision and the 
implications for current public administration. His very timely presentation 
reminds scholars and practitioners alike about the differences between 
bureaucratic and democratic models of public administration in self-governing 
societies.
