“Devastating.”
Stephen Holden, The New York Times

“An indispensable primer on U.S. foreign policy,
especially during wartime.”
Jessica Winter, Village Voice

“Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac.”
Henry Kissinger

Henry Kissinger, war criminal. Such is the explosive
thesis of this riveting and very timely documentary,
based on the controversial book by firebrand
journalist Christopher Hitchens. Produced for the BBC,
the film makes the case that, applying the same legal
standards to which the likes of Pinochet and Milosevic
have been held, Henry Kissinger, 1973 Nobel Peace
Prize winner and former U.S. Secretary of State,
should be tried for a litany of crimes against
humanity. The damning indictments unfold via an array
of fascinating interviews, recently declassified
documents, and often-astonishing archival material. “A
chilling history lesson in realpolitik . . .
Documentarians could go to school on the film’s
clarity of exposition and editing” (Variety).

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of Communists and other subversives. We intend to clean them out, even if it means rounding up every bird watcher in the country.
--John Mitchell, US Attorney General 1969-1972, as quoted in the New Jersey Sierra Club's Newsletter, Sierra Activist, Vol. 3, No. 9 (October 1997).
