On July 4th, U.S. Ambassador to Canada Paul Cellucci
will host the annual celebration of the US
Independence Day at his home in Rockcliffe Park,
Ottawa. In light of the Bush regime's unabashed empire
building, this is definitely not be a year for
celebration. Through the military aggression and
subsequent occupation of Iraq, the planned
militarization of space and the erosion of civil and
political liberties through the pseudo war on
terrorism, the United States has become a rogue
superpower.
So on July 4th, we are organising our own party: a NO
BU$H PARTY..! In solidarity with individuals and
communities around the world resisting the forces of
military and economic imperialism, we will celebrate
our commitment to lasting peace through social justice
and the respect of human rights.
We will gather in Rockcliffe Park to picnic, play and
enjoy our music. A high moment of the day will be our
march on the residence of Ambassador Cellucci when the
guests arrive. We intend to let them know our point of
view, which is to say:
- Our denunciation of the occupation of Iraq;
- Our total opposition to the missile
defence initiative and any
militarization of our economy;
- Our denunciation of the erosion of
civil and political rights since
the 11th of September 2001.
Join us for a rally in Rockcliffe Park and march to
Cellucci's residence. Bring your kites, frisbees,
noisemakers and symbols of resistance.
We invite all individuals, affinity groups and
organizations committed to social justice to join us
on Friday, July 4th, 2003 for a rally and march.
==================== 1) APPEL A L'ACTION

Le 4 juillet, M. Paul Cellucci, ambassadeur des
États-Unis au Canada, sera l'hôte de la célébration
annuelle de la journée de l'indépendance des
États-Unis à sa résidence, dans le quartier Rockcliffe
à Ottawa. Alors que l'administration Bush s'est lancée
dans la construction d'un empire tout azimut, ce n'est
définitivement pas une année de célébration. Avec
l'agression militaire et l'occupation subséquente de
l'Irak, le projet de militarisation de l'espace et
l'érosion des droits civils et politiques au nom de
ladite " guerre au terrorisme", les États-Unis sont
devenus une superpuissance voyou.
Par conséquent, le 4 juillet, nous organisons notre
propre fête : une CONTRE BU$H PARTY.. ! En solidarité
avec les militants et les peuples du monde entier
engagés dans la résistance à l'impérialisme, nous
allons célébrer notre engagement pour la paix durable
par la justice sociale et le respect des droits
humains.
Nous allons nous rassembler au Pavillon du Parc
Rockcliffe pour jouer, pique-niquer, écouter notre
musique. Un moment fort de la journée sera notre
marche vers la résidence de l'ambassadeur Cellucci
lorsque les invités arriveront. Ainsi, nous allons
leur faire connaître nos points de vue, à savoir :
- notre dénonciation de l'occupation de l'Irak ;
- notre farouche opposition au bouclier
antimissile et à toute militarisation
de nos économies ;
- notre dénonciation de l'érosion des
droits civils et démocratiques depuis
le 11 septembre 2001.
Joignez-vous à nous pour un rassemblement au Parc
Rockcliffe et une marche vers la résidence de
Cellucci. Amener vos cerfs-volants, ballons, frisbees,
effets sonores et symboles de résistance.
Nous invitons toutes les personnes, groupes sociaux
et organisations engagés dans la lutte pour la justice
sociale à se joindre à nous ce vendredi 4 juillet pour
un rassemblement et une marche.
============= 2) DIRECTIONS =============
By bike or car: follow Sussex to Rockcliffe Parkway
and continue along to the Rockcliffe Park entrance to
the left just after passing Buena Vista Road (this is
a one way road through the park that heads back to the
Rockcliffe Parkway near the corner of Princess
Avenue). There is a small parking lot at the Pavilion
and a much larger one further along the road)
En vélo ou en voiture: suivre Sussex jusqu'à la
promenade Rockcliffe et continuer jusqu'à l'entrée du
parc Rockcliffe, à la gauche tout de suite après le
chemin Buena Vista (il s'agit d'un chemin à sens
unique à travers le parc qui retourne à la promenade
Rockcliffe près de l'intersection de l'avenue
Princess). Il y a un petit stationnement au Pavillon
et un autre considérablement plus grand plus loin sur
le chemin.
By bus: OC transpo stops near park buses #3 and #4
En autobus: les autobus numéros #3 et #4 passent près
du parc.
