        if you check the archives, the idea of using the web as the PKI with URLs (or UR*, if you're picky) given as a place to find things (keys, certificates, CRLs or re-validation of a cert) was warmlyl received on the list a while back.  I'm certainly working it in to what I'm writing up as my version of the conclusions of the list.

You might also check the global PGP key ring database for signatures on lissa@world.std.com for another use of URLs -- specifically
