Ron and Angelos,

	my guess, for what it's worth, is that the only way to resolve this is to 
try two different applications and compare them (for cleanliness of code, 
efficiency, ...).

What I would propose comparing are:

1)	S-expression form with the canonical form described in the current draft 
(with a couple of modifications, like using hex length values rather than
the half-binary form I talked you into) as the signed format;

2)	S-expression form with a packed binary as the signed format

With those implementations done, I think we should look at them and have a 
discussion.
