Paul,

I may have failed to give you credit for drumming into my head that SDSI
names (all names, X.509 in the case you were drumming about) need to be
anchored by keys -- as shows up now in SPKI/SDSI fully qualified names.

SDSI names are very interesting -- but the fun comes, for me :), when we
take names that function perfectly well in small communities we grew up in
(family, school, church, ...) -- then fail when they hit the global net.
People are so attached to names and so used to them, that there results a
stubborn refusal to give them up and a bafflement at their failures. This
leads to a kind of fun.
