Although not originally scheduled to start until May 1, due to pressure from city captains, city registrations started on actively on April 22 - a week early.
This activity took multiple days away from acting on feedback. A contractor was hired on May 22, 2001 to clear the backlog of feedback. This contractor was expected to originally start on May 28.
The feedback was applied to all sites if appropriate.
Phase 4 is for the initial set of cities was completed ahead of schedule. By May 9, the following cities were configured: Edmonton, Kelowna, Kamloops, London, Nanaimo, Ottawa, Prince George, Vancouver, Greater Victoria, Whistler, Winnipeg, and Waterloo Region.
It was later understood that Waterloo Region had their own web site and would be doing their own data gathering. This fact was not well communicated to the national web site coordinator.
Additional web sites were put online as follows: Banff (May 10), Calgary (May 10), Guelph (May 18), Halifax (May 13), Nelson (May 16).
A reference was made to the Hamilton and Waterloo Region web sites from the national page.
Information packages were sent to: Kenneth Maybee of the NB Lung Association (Fredericton), Normand Parisien of T2000 Quebec (Montreal), and Olivia Nugent of Pollution Probe (Toronto). No response was received from these people.
Between May 29 and June 4, template sites were installed for: Fredericton-NB, Saint John-NB, St.Johns-NFLD, Quebec-QC, Montreal-QC, Regina-MB,
A request was received in May (via Calgary organizer Kathryn Winkler) from Enbridge to have a place for all their offices to register. Some of the above template sites were created in response to this request.
Conference calls were held on May 15 (with BC captains) and May 18 (everyone else).
A total of 16 cities ran active campaigns using the templated web site and database. Two cities (Hamilton and Waterloo Region) ran their own campaigns using their own tabulation systems.
Template-only sites were put up for 7 cities.
