I read that book. It's crap. Their idea of VPN is PPTP and AltaVista.
IPsec is mentioned, but the book's focus is the authors' experience 
with the previously mentioned technologies. The authors, if I 
remember correctly, are an ISP.

It's one of the few books I threw away.
