SHS type 3 test
Hi
This is a question about the Encryption algorithms used in the IPSec.
Under the secure hash standard testing : FIPS PUB 180-1, descibes three
areas of the Secure hash standard : message of verying length, selected
long messages and psuedo randomly generated messages.
The first two type of tests ( Messages of verying length and selected long
messages) are easy to cover and i think it ocvers most of the algorithm.
Then what is the significance of the SHS type3 test which more time
consuming. Does it cover any kind of cases which are not covered by other
type of tests?
Can somebody throw soem light on this?
