NAT-T drafts in 51st IETF



At the WG chairs' request, I'm posting this note also here:

The NAT-T drafts are, as far as the authors are concerned, mostly done.
Nobody in the WG disagreed. But the part that really needs noting is this:

  - the AH portion won't work quite (as described in the UDP encapsulation
draft)

  - the WG was polled about whether or not we really need AH support

  - ~two dozen+ people had read the draft

  - NOBODY wanted to retain AH support (and by my informal polls, nobody
was going to bother to implement support anyway because it was defined as
'MAY' be supported)

  - therefore, unless there is some urgent argument for retaining of the AH
support in the drafts, the AH support'll disappear and the drafts may
enter last call if no arguments against it are raised here.
