WATER RATIONING


Further water rationing is set to hit the city beginning next month.
Dagoreti, Karen, Langata, Woodley and Kileleshwa areas [Nairobi outskirts]
will be most affected by the rationing.
The acting general manager, sewerage and water department, Joseph Kimani,
said water supply to the city had fallen by 38m litres.
Kimani said Sasumwa Dam [central Kenya] was now supplying only 17m litres
instead of its usual 56m litres. Kimani added that the shortage is also
aggravated by 600,000 litres of water lost daily due to illegal connections...
