                    presents a night about AFGHANISTAN

Wednesday, November 10th at 6:00 pm.
Room 236 Patterson, Carleton University

After decades of Civil War, Afghanistan continues to be a country filled
with grave human rights abuses.A recent report by Kamal Hossain, special
rapporteur of the UN commission on human rights cited ``grave breaches'' of
human rights such as aerial bombardment, laying of mines, executions,
violence against women and destruction of homes.

On Wednesday, November 10th, WUSC will be having a film showing
followed by a discussion on Afghanistan.

The films being shown are "Afghanistan" (1988) and "Cold War" (1997). The
films will last for an hour followed by a discussion with someone from the
Canadian Afghan Community (To be confirmed).

The event is free and all are welcome.
