Copies to: LPDC Canada <lpdccfd@web.net>

Greetings All

There will be a vigil outside the US Embassy this coming Monday (December
11) at 11:00, followed by a press conference on Parliament Hill.

Please distribute this e-mail widely, particularly to Aboriginal
organizations/individuals. (however, I would appreciate it if you took a
minute to delete my personal e-mail address before forwarding it on).

Although it is cold outside, let's gather amass and demonstrate our
support, compassion, and concern for Leonard.

Yours in solidarity, justice and freedom!

Indigo Holley

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT BY ATTENDING THE VIGIL IN OTTAWA
FOR LEONARD PELTIER

Leonard Peltier is a world recognized aboriginal political prisoner who has
been
in a U.S. prison for almost 25 years for a crime he did not commit.
Recently, as part of the
Leonard Peltier Defence Committee Canada's and Canadian Labour Congress'
Clemency
campaign, hearings were heard in Toronto that unearthed evidence
dramatically contradicting
the government's case against him - some of which has never before been
presented.

On Monday December 11th the transcript of this hearing along with a Canadian
application for Clemency will be presented to the U.S. Ambassador just prior
to being released to the media. Everyone who wants to see justice done for
Leonard Peltier, and all First Nations indigenous peoples, are urged to
attend a vigil
accompanying the delegation presenting the application.

This day has been selected as closest to the Anniversary of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights
on December 10. A media conference is being held at Parliament Hill at 12
noon.

 Monday December 11, 2000
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
U.S. Embassy Entrance
MacKenzie Blvd beside the Chateau Laurier
One block West of Sussex & Rideau

Note that President Clinton has publicly stated that he is seriously
considering granting Clemency to Leonard and that he will make a decision in
the very near future. Your efforts now can make the difference!

------- End of forwarded message -------

This face of suffering [the world] I must embrace as part of my
responsibility. Past of the feast is becoming aware of the world that
is mine. Part of the feast is owning this broken world as my own
brokenness.
