CLEARCUTS IN ONTARIO'S PUBLIC BORESTS - GETTING BIGGER
Ontario Government posts clearcutting guideline that
lifts limit on clearcut size in Ontario
On Friday September 7th, the Ministry of Natural
Resources posted a new version of their clearcut
guideline (officially called the Forest Management
Guide for Natural Disturbance Pattern Emulation). The
MNR has ignored over 600 public comments from last
fall decrying the guideline?s focus on creating large
clearcuts. There is no upper limit to the size of
clearcut that is to be permitted by the new guideline
...
