"Digital chop" is closer to the truth than "digital signature", but
still not fully analogous.  Good chops are hand-carved.  This gives 
them a property private keys lack -- they are difficult to copy, 
even if the owner wants to.  A verifier will see that the original 
chop-mark and the chop-mark made by the copy have subtle differences.
