I wouldn't go that far. They're just solving different problems.

Nonetheless, we are way past our deadlines, and people *are* going to get
fed up and do it themselves if we don't shape up.

The popularity of SSH, SSL, PPTP, etc. are all because of RUNNING CODE. If
we change the bloody standards every 3 months, we'll *never* get running
code, and we'll never obtain significant deployment.
