On a similar note, wouldn't the tunnel mode result into
waste of a lot of bandwidth in IPv6? Over 50% of data
packets on the Internet are less than 128 bytes in size.
With the massive IPv6 header (40 bytes), the tunnel
mode may not be particularly attractive.
