SPECIAL EVENT    October 21 to November 4th - Ottawa 

FROM WEAPONS TO ART TOUR 

Fourteen sculptures welded from fragments of weapons are on display at: 

The Old Registrars Office, 
70 Nicholas St. (Directly across street from Arts Court building and the
Youth Hostel) 
Ottawa 

Exhibition Hours: 
Saturday, October 21 to Saturday, November 4th 
Monday - Friday  12:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 
Saturday, Sunday  1:00   p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 
Saturday, November 4 1:00   p.m. - 4:00 p.m. 

The Cross-Canada Tour, called From Weapons to Art, is intended to educate
and promote peace and
non-violence as well as raise awareness of the active role of Canadian
organizations and the Canadian
Government in peacebuilding initiatives. 

November 1 - Peace building and Conflict Resolution 
Panel Discussion to be held at First Unitarian Church, 30 Cleary Ave,
Ottawa 
 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. 

Panelists will include: 
Dr Peter Stockdale of CoSumma International Consultants Inc., 
Padre Tim Maindonald, of the Office of the Chaplain General, 
Kathy Vandergrift of World Vision, 
Dr Necla Tschirgi of IDRC, 
a representative from CIDA and DFAIT. 

The discussion topic will be peacebuilding and conflict resolution - how
can we in society resolve conflict
and promote a culture of peace and non-violence.
