  Assuming you can get your code out of the UK, you can import it to
the US.
  From the US it is legal to export printed (on paper) diffs.

  Yes, you need to wipe your code from your notebooks/routers. Note that
there are usually phone booths with data ports after US customs when you
are leaving, so you can download a fresh, unmodified copy, and start
patching with your diff printouts back into your code on the transatlantic
flight :-)   [that might be illegal if you are flying a US airline]

  If you need to login to the UK to fix things, i.e. you can't bring
a devel environment with you, then I suggest that you use the telephone to 
tell someone back home what to patch.
  Someone should organize a bakeoff in the Cayman or some other place with
no laws.
